MotionBased on your Mac
Here's everything you need to know about utilizing MotionBased on a Mac. If you've been using the Mac Web Agent to upload to MotionBased in the past, please stop and follow the new process below:
1) Install Garmin Communicator Plugin
In order to upload to MotionBased, you will need the Mac version of the Garmin Communicator Plugin. The plugin on the MotionBased site requires Safari 3+ or Firefox 2+.
2) Upload
After you've installed the plugin, you can start uploading to MotionBased by going to the Upload page at http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/upload/view.mb.
Note: Attempting to upload indoor/non-GPS activities will cause upload errors. If you have non-GPS activities on your device, upload them to the Garmin Training Center then delete them from the device. You may then upload your GPS activities to MotionBased. For info on deleting individual activities, check out the Owner's Manual for your device at the Garmin site.
3) View Activities
That's it. You're ready to go. Start organizing, mapping, analyzing and sharing your activities at MotionBased.
Limitations at MotionBased:
- The Analyzer does not work on a Mac.
- The Map Player does not work on a Mac. In most cases, you may see a map simulation of an activity with the the Player (available in both Safari and Firefox). The Player is in beta and available for most activities less than 3 hours long.
- Course Downloads are not available through MotionBased at this time. You CAN transfer a Course to your device through the Garmin Training Center:
- Open the Garmin Training Center
- From History select the activity you wish to send to your device (courses downloaded from MotionBased must to be imported into Training Center)
- Select File
- Click Send to Device
